About Us

Hospice Satilla, Inc. is a non-profit community based organization that cares for people who are battling a disease that will not benefit from further aggressive treatment, so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. Hospice treats a large number of patients who have various illnesses such as congestive heart failure, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, chronic lung disease, cancer and other health conditions. Patients who are terminally ill enter hospice with a diagnosis of 6 months or less to live.  Receiving hospice care does not mean giving up hope or that death is imminent. Hospice is about how you live!

Hospice Satilla recognizes the physical, emotional, spiritual and financial needs of each patient and their families. Death is a natural part of the life cycle and hospice wants to help families and patients make life meaningful unti the end of life. Hospice believes that through the personalized service of our specialized team, patients can live well, with dignity and grace, until the end of life. Various programs are offered to support the grief journey of Hospice Satilla families and of the community at large.

"I would like to say Thank you to Satilla Hospice for making my Granny’s last days comfortable. You all did a very professional job in not only helping my Granny but also being there for my family. I would also like to Thank Miles Odum Funeral Home for leaving such a great well written poem on her pillow for our family to read after she was gone.
May we all find comfort and peace knowing that she was asking for her favorite ice cream at those pearly gates for she hadn’t eaten in days, and the purist water for she was so thirsty. I’m gonna miss your smiling face so much!!!"

"Hospice Satilla provided excellent care to my father and our family members. Their caring and compassion began with my first phone call and they provided a plan of care, education and support which allowed us to remain at home. The Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Ministers, CNA’s, Staff and Volunteers provided compassionate holistic care. We are blessed to have Hospice Satilla in our community. We also appreciate the medication management plan and the 24/7 nursing support. Thank you for this awesome end of life transition experience."
